T.A.R.G.E.T is Thrustmaster‘s free programming software, used to test, configure and program the Viper TQS and combine it with your other Thrustmaster controllers in a single profile.
The Thrustmaster Viper TQS is a replica of the throttle quadrant system (TQS) of the legendary Viper fighter, officially licensed by the U.S. Air Force and built for PC. It brings the real throttle’s ergonomics to your desk or cockpit with a 1:1 scale handle featuring metal casing and metal buttons, plus realistic and iconic control switches. Designed for military flight simmers who want the controls, kinematics and sensations real Viper pilots experience, it is the throttle half of a serious Viper setup and can be expanded later with the dedicated Viper Panel.
The throttle faithfully replicates the Viper‘s mechanical movement along its axis, with smooth travel on metal bearings. A legacy axis rail gives access to the Idle/Cutoff and Afterburner detents through mechanical levers and handle rotation, and it is easy to switch to a 100% linear axis when you prefer. Adjustable friction delivers firm, linear travel with no dead zones, and the die-cast metal construction keeps that friction constant over time, while the H.E.A.R.T (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) magnetic sensor provides 16-bit precision. In total you get 21 action buttons, including 2 virtual buttons, and 5 axes.
Iconic dogfight functions include metal control knobs, a Chaff/Flare slap switch to deploy countermeasures and blackout switches. Every button is easy to find, even while wearing a VR headset, and a VR switch zooms your point of view so you never miss the action. Connect the throttle to your PC and configure it with the free T.A.R.G.E.T programming software. To expand its combat capabilities, add the Viper Panel, sold separately, a backlit module with 43 buttons including 11 virtual ones, a landing gear lever, a jettison function and a trim wheel.
