T.A.R.G.E.T is Thrustmaster‘s free programming software, used to test, configure and program the joystick and throttle, including the RGB LEDs.
The Thrustmaster Sol-R 4 HOTAS is a Hands On Throttle And Stick system made up of a joystick and a separate throttle, designed to dominate the airspace and beyond on PC. HOTAS lets you control your trajectory and engine thrust at the same time, and with up to 58 assignable actions spread across the stick, base and throttle, every essential function stays at your fingertips. It is aimed at advanced pilots in space and flight simulation who want a complete, versatile combat setup in one box, with targeting, weapons and decoys within thumb’s reach.
The joystick grip carries 21 action buttons, including 2 triggers (one of them dual-position), 2 hat switches, a mini-stick and a thumbwheel. Its 3 axes, X, Y and Z, use H.E.A.R.T (HallEffect AccuRate Technology) sensors with 16-bit precision, and the mechanism, refined from more than 10 years of expertise for better durability, gives linear resistance in all directions for any type of flight. The Sol-R base adds 4 switches, 8 pads derived from DJ controllers, a mini-throttle, a selector and a rotary knob, with individually customizable RGB LEDs.
The throttle uses S.M.A.R.T. (Sliding Motion Advanced Rail Tracks) technology for smooth, precise movement over 80 mm of travel, with 4 detent settings: none, 50% or 80% afterburner, or dual-detent. Its buttons, hat switches, thumbwheel and rudder add more actions for your left hand. The joystick measures 196 x 196 x 247 mm and weighs 1270 g, the throttle 170 x 204 x 125 mm and 665 g, and each connects with a USB-C cable. Expand the setup with TFRP rudder pedals, an AVA base for the removable grip, or Viper and Hornet grips on the Sol-R base, all sold separately.
