T.A.R.G.E.T is Thrustmaster‘s free programming software, used to test, configure and program the AVA Base and combine it with other Thrustmaster controllers in a single profile.
The Thrustmaster AVA Base is the modular heart of Thrustmaster‘s AVA (Advanced Versatile Aviation) ecosystem, a joystick base built to be configured around the way you fly rather than locking you into one fixed feel. It was designed as a major step up for owners of the iconic HOTAS Warthog, replacing a fixed-configuration base with one that can be retuned for any type of aircraft. Whether you fly fighter jets and want a firm, tightly tensioned stick, captain an airliner, command a starship or hover a helicopter with delicate inputs, the AVA Base can be set up to match the mission.
Its versatility comes from a set of interchangeable internal elements. Cams change the axis curve, with Aero and Jet profiles included; springs set the resistance, with Soft, Medium and Strong pairs in the box; deflection masks in S, M and XL sizes define the stick’s travel; and damping can be added with a damper. Adjustments are designed to be quick, and the stick’s resistance can be tuned on the fly without disassembling the base. Precision comes from two AXY (Accurate X&Y) sensors, which allow independent adjustment of the center point, progressiveness and resistance, combined with Thrustmaster‘s H.E.A.R.T magnetic technology on both axes.
The compact base measures 108 x 170 x 72 mm and weighs 1069 g, and connects to your PC with a detachable USB-C cable. It sits at the center of a growing range of AVA accessories, including the AVA Offset Adapter, AVA Desktop Plate, extensions, extra cams and springs, and the AVA Damper Plus, all sold separately. The free T.A.R.G.E.T software lets you test, configure and program the base alongside your other Thrustmaster controllers, with built-in presets for popular titles. Please note this is a base only; a compatible Thrustmaster joystick grip is required and sold separately.
