The Thrustmaster T598 (PS5 / PS4 / PC) is a complete sim racing setup built around Direct Axial Drive, Thrustmaster‘s next-generation direct drive motor. In one box you get the base, the detachable Sportcar wheel rim and the Raceline Pedals LTE pedal set, ready for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. It is aimed at drivers who want to step into direct drive feel with a ready-to-race package that is easy to set up and adjust. This is the PlayStation version of the T598; a separate Xbox / PC version is also available, so make sure you choose the one that matches your console.
Direct Axial Drive uses an axial flux motor, developed with ECM PCB Stator Tech, that moves the rim with no cogging for clean, high-fidelity force feedback. The 5 Nm of constant torque has a +100% overshoot capability to deliver strongly boosted effects, with ultra-low latency of 5 ms. HARMONY technology generates high-frequency torque so you can feel the game’s physics down to the smallest details, from kerbs to tire scrub. The Race Dash screen on the base lets you adjust more than 10 settings and save profiles without a computer, including GEAR JOLT to feel gear changes in the rim, and it displays more than 10 items of race information such as speed, best time, position or flags in compatible games.
The Sportcar rim measures 30 cm with rubber grips, mag-shift paddle shifters and a multifunction encoder that lets you assign 12 additional game actions, and at 811 g it lets you feel the full power of the motor. The 2-pedal Raceline Pedals LTE uses H.E.A.R.T sensors for accuracy and longevity, with interchangeable springs, 3 adjustment notches per pedal and non-slip pads, and it can be upgraded with a third load cell pedal sold separately. The rim can be swapped for many Thrustmaster Wheel Add-On models in formula, GT and rally styles (some may need an adapter), and shifters or handbrakes can be added. On PC, My Thrustmaster Panel makes it easy to adjust settings and run updates.
