The Thrustmaster Quick Release Upgrade SF1000 converts your Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition to the new Direct Drive quick release standard. Once installed, it replaces the wheel rim’s old attachment system and makes it natively compatible with the T818 and T598 racing wheel bases, so you can keep racing with your SF1000 replica after moving to one of Thrustmaster‘s Direct Drive bases. It is designed for SF1000 owners who want a permanent, native connection rather than an add-on adapter between the rim and the base.
Beyond compatibility, the next-gen attachment system improves the connection itself. Thrustmaster states that it enhances the Force Feedback feel while ensuring unfiltered transmission of effects from the base to the wheel, so every detail of the road reaches your hands. This version of the Quick Release Upgrade was specially designed for the Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition and is made to be installed by the owner. It ships with its cable, all the screws needed for the front plate, rear cover and rear handles, a hex key, and a foam support to protect the wheel during the work.
Installation takes about 30 minutes by following the instructions and video tutorials available on the Thrustmaster website. Certain steps require particular attention to avoid damaging the wheel rim, so take your time and follow the guide closely. The upgraded wheel can be used on PC, PS5 and Xbox, depending on the base. For other Thrustmaster wheel rims, the standard Quick Release Upgrade and the Quick Release Adapter are offered instead. Please note the Formula Wheel Add-On Ferrari SF1000 Edition and a T818 or T598 racing wheel base are required and sold separately.
