A small adapter with a specific and genuinely useful job. The USB-A Adapter Spacer mounts to the front shaft of your CONSPIT ARES base and adds an integrated USB-A port with a built-in USB Refresher chip. This lets you plug any USB-enabled steering wheel directly into the base — no cable routing back to the PC, no tangling as the wheel rotates, and no signal degradation even with high-bandwidth wheels running SimHub screens or telemetry displays.

Description

CONSPIT Universal USB-A Adapter Spacer

If you’re running a CONSPIT ARES direct drive base and want to use a steering wheel that connects via USB — whether that’s a CONSPIT wheel, a third-party formula wheel, or any other USB-enabled rim — the standard solution involves routing the wheel’s cable back through your rig to a PC port. It works, but it’s inelegant. The cable has to span the full distance from your wheel to your PC, it drags and twists with every steering input, and the longer the cable run the more susceptible you are to signal noise and power delivery inconsistencies.

The USB-A Adapter Spacer solves all of that in one compact piece. It mounts directly to the front of the ARES base shaft, positioning a USB-A port at the closest possible point to your steering wheel. The wheel’s cable plugs straight in, rotates with the shaft, and transmits data through the ARES base’s built-in high-durability slip ring directly to the PC — no cable routing required, no external adapters, no additional clutter on your rig.

The integrated USB Refresher chip is the component that makes this work reliably at any bandwidth level. Standard passive USB extensions degrade signal quality over distance and can cause instability with high-data devices like wheels running SimHub-compatible display screens or full telemetry dashboards. The Refresher chip actively conditions the signal at the point of connection, ensuring clean, stable data transmission regardless of what wheel you’re running or how demanding its data requirements are.

The result is an open, brand-agnostic connection that removes compatibility barriers between your ARES base and the wider sim racing wheel ecosystem. Wheels from MOZA, SIMAGIC, Fanatec, Cube Controls, Ascher Racing, and virtually any other manufacturer that connects via USB can plug directly into your ARES base using this adapter. You keep your CONSPIT direct drive performance and your choice of wheel, without compromise on either side.
